Our Mission

At We're So Koi, our mission is to provide the healthiest and best quality koi fish for enthusiasts and hobbyists of all levels. We strive to create a welcoming and educational environment for our customers, and to promote the joy and beauty of koi keeping. We are committed to ethical and bio secure farming practices, and to sharing our knowledge and expertise with our community.

ABOUT US

We're So Koi is a family-owned and operated business that began in the garage of our family home. What started as a hobby and passion for koi keeping, quickly turned into a business as we began to share our love of these beautiful fish with others. With hard work and dedication, we gradually grew our operation into a retail location offering a wider range of koi and pond supplies to our customers.

Our commitment to maintaining a healthy stock of koi and our dedication to customer service helped us establish a loyal customer base and a reputation as a trusted source for koi.

In Late 2022, we finalized our purchase of a fully functional 36-acre koi farm in northwestern Florida which is the largest koi farm in the state. The farm has a long history of producing the very best quality koi and we are excited to maintain and expand on that legacy.

We strive every day to provide our customers with the best possible koi and an unparalleled level of customer service. We are always happy to share our knowledge and expertise with our customers, whether you're a seasoned koi keeper or just starting out.

Our Farm

Built in 1988 as a joint project between the State of Florida and the University of Florida, our farm began its life as the Sam Mitchell Aquaculture and Demonstration Facility. The facility spans nearly 40 acres, with 38 mud ponds, multiple holding tanks, 2 large greenhouses, and is even equipped with a laboratory!

Originally intended to help promote catfish farming in West Florida, the facility operated for this purpose until 2008. It was then bought by Blackwater Creek Koi Farms, who for the next 14 years, built it into one of the most successful koi farms in the country. In late October 2022, We’re So Koi Inc. bought and took ownership of the farm.

We are proud to continue the legacy of this amazing farm and all the beautiful fish that it has produced over the years. With your help and the help of our dedicated staff, we look forward to writing the next chapter in the farm's history.
